Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier) is an American singer and songwriter regarded as the "Godfather of Shock Rock." For over six decades, he has pioneered a macabre and theatrical brand of heavy metal and hard rock, transforming live rock music into an arena-sized horror spectacle. Originally, Alice Cooper was the name of the band Furnier formed in Phoenix in 1968. When the original lineup disbanded in 1974, Furnier legally changed his name to Alice Cooper to launch a highly successful solo career. He adopted a villainous stage persona, wearing smeared black eye makeup and performing alongside elaborate props like guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, and live boa constrictors.
