Absu

Absu is an American metal band from Dallas, Texas, widely recognized for pioneering a unique style they call "Mythological Occult Metal." Formed in 1989 initially under the name Dolmen, the group blends aggressive black metal and thrash metal with elements of progressive rock, jazz fusion, and celtic folk music. Their complex lyrics, largely driven by drummer and vocalist Proscriptor McGovern, focus on esoteric topics, including Sumerian, Mesopotamian, and Celtic mythologies, alchemy, and sorcery.
