If you’re a Carcass fan who loves the feel of physical media, the Surgical Steel Cassette is a great addition to your collection. It’s a cassette release of Surgical Steel, the 2013 album that marked the British extreme metal band’s return and drew praise from longtime listeners and newer fans alike. If you’ve followed Carcass from the early gore-soaked records to their later, more melodic sound, this is a title you’ll want on your shelf.
Cassettes have enjoyed a real comeback among metal fans. They’re compact, fun to collect and a great way to experience an album the way many of us first did, pressing play and listening from start to finish. A tape also makes a great display piece, whether it’s sitting beside your records, in a collector’s case or on a shelf in your music room.
It’s a thoughtful gift for the extreme metal fan in your life, whether it’s for a birthday, the holidays or a surprise just because. It also pairs well with patches, pins and other band merchandise if you’re building a Carcass collection. And if you’re a tape collector, a cassette like this is a fun, affordable way to add a modern classic to your library, ready to play whenever you want to turn the volume up.
